(From
Dearest Friend,-
I am feeling fine and hope you are the same. I am waiting pashintly for a letter from you. I suppose you have ben buisy or maybe you thought you were writing enough. That’s all right I am satisfies that you write when you do.
When I was In Manitowoc I thought I had to get up early. But now I have to get up at five-o-clock every morning. Tuesday I got up at four in the morning to wash my hammock. This morning I washed my suit of white. we got orders to have both suits clean. There was a bout twenty five of them so I was wise got up earlier. I got all through when the rest were starting.
Monday and Tuesday we all had to dress up, go over to the Marine camp form a flag. some had white suits on and some blue. so that made the stripes.
There was about thirty thousand men in all. all sailors. some bunch. I guess we will have to go over again this morning. They also took a movie picture of the bunch.
Yesterday we went over to another camp for shooting. Wednesday we went on perade Drill. There was another big crowd. There was three bands. About three thousand autos here.
I don’t have to Drill so much as I did last week.
I sure am lucky I just got a check for $43.60 cents from the ship yards. Some back pay. I sure can use it.
I guess I will close for this time as there is nothing to write. So Good Bye.
with Bushels of love and Oceans of kisses.
Answer as soon as you can.
Yours until you don’t want me any more,
Co. D. Sec. Reg.
