These are transcriptions of actual letters written by my great-grandfather, a sailor on the USS New Jersey during WWI, to his girlfriend back in Wisconsin, my great grandma, Rose. The letters are published exactly 80 years after they were written. So 1997 contains letters from 1917, 1998 letters from 1918 and so on...
