Dearest Rose,-

I just got your most kind and ever welcome letter yesterday and as you are in a hurry to hear from me I thought I would answer now.

I am just going to write with a pencil. I see you wrote with Ink. But you don’t have to do that because I am glad to get a letter from you no matter how it is wrote.

Well I am supprised about those letters I sen you, the big one I sen last Thursday and the other one I sent Sunday night. I don’t suppose your mail man goes very often?

Today is Sunday and it sure is lonesome here. I sure will be glad when you come back.

The weather sure has been nice here. But it Rained here the other day and snowed a little and was a little cold. But it is nice enough now.

Say I like your nerve you said you wrote as big a letter as I did. I don’t think It would any harm to write a little more. Those two letters sure were more than your one.

You said in you letter that you thought I wouldn’t answer your letter. You don’t need to be afraid of that because when I didn’t get a letter from you for a hole week I didn’t sleep very much nights thinking about it. So write as often as you can because I feel blue and when I get a letter from you I am alright again.

How is that fellow of yours in Denmark does he take you for a sleigh ride, to dances and give you a good time while you are to home.

You said you was going to turn him down. But the best way is to keep him than you will have one in Denmark and one in Manitowoc. But what ever you do don’t forget me.

If the weather is nice and warm when you come back we will have a sleigh ride. You are having a lot now, but I haven’t had any yet.

My bed partner is having a fit and I can’t hardly hear any more. he is making so much noise. So don’t know how I can write. Well it is nearly twelve-o-clock and I started this letter at eight so you see it is hard to think of anything to write.

You don’t need to be afraid of getting work here because there is add in the papers and in the window of the Victorian House so you can get lots of work.

Ida’s address is Mrs. Boehmke, R. 1 Box 65a Beaver, Wis. I hope you don’t wait there for an answer. because you wouldn’t come back this winter.

Well I hope you don’t stay in Denmark a week for you will be back sooner. I hope you come back the 22 of this month because I don’t work that day. The hole yards are going to lay off.

Well I haven’t ben home for over two months. I think I will go home Easter. I suppose you will be going home then again.

Well I guess I said enough foolish things for a while, So I guess I will close for this time, as it is nearly dinner time, and I can’t think of any more to write.

I don’t go to the shows very often because I don’t like to go alone.

I hope you don’t forget that you are coming home with me this summer to visit Ida.

I will have to close for this time. With best love and a dozen kisses. Hoping to see you soon. And be sure if you don’t come rite away Answer as soon as you can because I am always waiting for a letter from you.

Well Good Bye

I remain your friend

Douglas

Dear Rose,-

As I was feeling blue and didn’t know anything else to do so I thought I would write a little letter too you. There isn’t much to write but, Just a little letter to pass the time away.

It sure was nice and warm here yesterday and is still warmer today.

What do you think of this for writing paper. it is pretty small. It may get lost in the mail. but if you don’t get this letter you can write and let me know.

If you don’t hurry up and come back, you wont be able to get a sleigh ride because the snow is going fast.

I would like to see you next Sunday but I don’t suppose you will be half throw visiting.

Did you have a good time to the dance? I suppose the girls are there now? Are they coming back? I hope you didn’t get in your head to stay in Denmark. You don’t know how I would feel if you didn’t come back.

I just got a letter from Ida the other day I answered it this Morn. Well I guess I will close for this time,

Good-Bye. Will close with love and a kiss hoping to hear from you soon and still more hope to see you soon. from your Frend,

Douglas.

Dearest Rose, -

I received your kind and ever so welcome letter to-night, if I wouldn’t be lonesome I wouldn’t answer so soon. there isn’t much to write about but I will write all I am think of.

We sure are having some nice weather now. But it is a little colder tonight. I sure miss you as I had to go to the show alone last night and Sunday I wasn’t out side at all.

Well I hope you have a good time while you are home because you may not have a very good time when you come back but we will try and have. because it will be a little warmer than. Than we can get outside more.

I hope you don’t make up your mind to stay in Denmark the rest of the winter because you would know how I would feel. You said you thought you would have to cry when you left me, but I wish you could know how I felt. I will tell you when I come back.

I got a letter from Ida the other day and she said she never got a letter or a card from you, and she wants you to write now.

Well as there isn’t much to write about I think I will close for this time. I would not answer so soon but I expect one back as soon as possible.

I was looking for a letter from you Tuesday—and when I didn’t get any Wednesday I thought you forgot me, so I didn’t expect any letters from you. So you can amagine how I felt.

Hope this letter finds you well and having a good time, but if you have to good a time you may not want to come back.

Well I guess I will close for this time as it is getting late.

Good-Bye with love and a kiss, Hoping to hear from you soon. And hope you don’t forget me

From your Friend

Douglas.
